Copper Country Ancient Sites Conservancy visits

On June 27, 2026 Bob Wheeler, with the Copper Country Ancient Sites Conservancy will be giving presentations at 2pm and 4pm. The talks will be on how copper was mined by the Indigenous People, here in the Western Great Lakes Region. The Delaware site is well suited for this because of the well preserved sites on the property.

Noted author Paul Schanen will be giving demonstrations on pounding and annealing raw native copper to fashion useable tools like the Indigenous People did thousands of years ago.
