As you may have heard MDOT is closing down US41 and putting a detour on M26 in order to get to Copper Harbor. The good news is this does not cause any problems if you are coming up to the mine. The road closure is scheduled from August 10th - 14th and happens well north of us by Lake Medora. After the first week they will have a traffic light allowing alternating one lane traffic for the remainder of the schedule. As the season moves on we have updated many things in the gift shop. Laurie spent time over the off season looking for items uniquely to copper and the mine. Where possible we use local Artisans and Vendors to fulfill our orders. This year we have added mugs, shot glasses, hats and children's tees just to name a few. Our splash copper this season is remarkable and we have stocked up for when things get busy. Nothing makes Laurie happier than to hear guests talk about how much they enjoy...

On June 27, 2026 Bob Wheeler, with the Copper Country Ancient Sites Conservancy will be giving presentations at 2pm and 4pm. The talks will be on how copper was mined by the Indigenous People, here in the Western Great Lakes Region. The Delaware site is well suited for this because of the well preserved sites on the property.
