We actually have put more thought into this project than that. Back in early 2024 when we were planning to buy the mine we did as much research as we could to help us become more familiar with the history. 2027 will mark the 50 year anniversary of Tom's vision for a mine tour that would help tell the story of the Keweenaw. We have been blessed to be able to step in and help craft the next chapter of this story. As you may have heard MDOT is closing down US41 and putting a detour on M26 in order to get to Copper Harbor. The good news is this does not cause any problems if you are coming up to the mine. The road closure is scheduled from August 10th - 14th and happens well north of us by Lake Medora. After the first week they will have a traffic light allowing alternating one lane traffic for the remainder of the schedule.
